Grants, Notices & Awards (listed in chronological order by deadline)

Scholarship Program to Develop Nonprofit Social Sector Leaders Deadline: November 15, 2007. Fellowships are available to 75 nonprofit employees to take advantage of a free seminar, a membership with the Leader to Leader Institute, and member benefits of the AMA. (The American Management Association).

Young Scholars Program Deadline: November 16, 2007. A Young Scholars Program is being sponsored to support junior and senior undergraduate students from underrepresented ethnic minority groups from North America to pursue graduate work and careers in adolescent development. (Society for Research on Adolescence).

Grants for Research on Education and/or Welfare of Children Deadline: November 16, 2007. Proposals are being solicited for original research and writing on policies concerning the education and/or welfare of children in the United States. Two fellowships of $5,000 will be awarded. (The National Parent Teacher Association).

AARP's U@50 Contest Deadline: November 30, 2007. A total of $10,000 in prize money is offered to people, 18 and over, who submit an original 1- to 2-minute video on where they expect to be by the time they turn 50. (AARP).

National Schools of Character Awards Program Deadline: December 3, 2007. $20,000 is being offered to model school districts to help share their practices with other educators. (Character Education Partnership).

William T. Grant Distinguished Fellows Program Deadline: January 10, 2008. An RFP has been announced for a Distinguished Fellows Program for mid-career influential researchers, policymakers, and practitioners interested in increasing the supply of, demand for, and use of high-quality research in the service of improved youth outcomes. (The William T. Grant Foundation).
