The National Assembly and the National Council of Nonprofit Associations developed this report to benefit donors and charitable nonprofit organizations. It found that approaches and criteria vary among the various rating and ranking entities, that evaluators tend to focus on financial measures not program results, and rating criteria and methods are not always apparent. Forming and Sustaining Statewide Juvenile Justice Collaborations
The promising practices of collaboration contained in this report are based on the experiences of 11 statewide and the District of Columbia's juvenile justice collaborations. Five of the states were directly involved in the Statewide Juvenile Justice Advocacy Project conducted by the Center for the Study of Youth Policy and supported by a grant from The John D. and Catherine T. The survey was designed to assess certain aspects of organizational governance, with a focus on client/consumer board participation, as well as attitudes and opinions regarding client/consumer participation. The purpose of this study is to contribute to the field's understanding of the prevalence and perceptions of client/consumer board participation from the perspective of a diverse set of community based organizations.
