A new Wider Opportunities for Women (WOW) report finds that 41 percent of adult women live in households with income levels that do not provide economic security, as compared to 36 percent of men. Overall, 45 percent of Americans are economically insecure, according to Living Below the Line: Economic Insecurity and America’s Families. The report defines economic insecurity basedon the Basic Economic Security Tables Index (BEST).
