Senior Community Service Employment Program Cut by Nearly Half

HR 1473, the full-year Continuing Resolution approving the federal budget for FY2011, cut SCSEP funding starting on July 1, 2011, to $450 million, a 45% reduction. The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) is the largest federally-funded program specifically targeting older adults seeking employment and training assistance, and provided job opportunities for 125,000 older adults.
