Senate Rejects Four Proposed Budget Plans, Fears of Cuts Linger On

The Senate has voted down four separate budget resolutions including the budget plan that passed the House, two more proposals by Senators Toomey (R-PA) and Paul (R-KY) that cut even more than the House budget, and the Obama budget as released last February.  The controversial House budget would slash $4.3 trillion in needed services over ten years, about two-thirds of which are targeted to help low-income people.  Read more from the Coalition on Human Needs weekly report. 06/16/2011
