The Ins and Outs of Academic Success – Evidence Shows Children Need to Succeed Out of School to Succeed In School

The National Collaboration for Youth, a 40+ year coalition comprised of 50+ of the National Human Service Assembly’s leading national nonprofit youth development member agencies, recently released a brief on the impact of youth development programs on student academic success. The brief cites evaluations of a sample of diverse community-based programs that affect student performance and reduce negative outcomes, and makes the case for the importance of out-of-school time programming in ensuring success for America’s youth.
